Hair is a material before it is a hairstyle. It has weight, direction, light and shadow. It holds colour the way fabric holds dye. Most education treats hair as a technical object. We treat it as a material — and the way you cut, the way you colour, and the way you photograph becomes one creative act.
Step inside the creative world of award-winning colourists Grace Dalgleish and Sofia Geideby, and fashion photographer Aris Akritidis, for an intimate full-day experience exploring hair colour, concept development and image-making.
This year, Hair Materiality evolves from look-and-learn into a collaborative creative lab.
The morning begins with a live demonstration from Grace and Sofia, breaking down the complete process behind concept-led colour—from initial inspiration and formulation to placement, application and rule-breaking technique. Alongside them, Aris will reveal how lighting, composition and photography shape the way colour translates through the lens.
In the afternoon, it’s your turn to create.
Working together as a collective, you’ll develop an idea and bring it to life through colour, styling and photography, with hands-on guidance and mentorship from Grace, Sofia and Aris throughout. You’ll learn how to make stronger visual and technical decisions, collaborate with other artists and create an image that feels considered, elevated and true to your own point of view.
The day will take place in an open, intimate environment, a safe space to experiment, play and explore your creativity.
You’ll leave with:

• New formulations, placement ideas and experimental techniques
• Practical experience developing an idea collaboratively

Grace Dalgleish is one of London’s leading editorial colourists and creative directors, known for redefining the future of hair colour through a highly personalised, visual approach. Sofia Geideby

Sofia Geideby is an award-winning hairdresser, educator, and creative collaborator based in Stockholm, Sweden. She is the co-founder and creative director of Little Faktory, a creative salon known for its bold colour work, strong visual identity, and innovative approach to hair design.With extensive experience working, competing, and educating both nationally and internationally, Sofia has established herself as one of the leading creative hairdressers in the Nordic region. She is an eleven-time winner at the Swedish Hairdresser of the Year Awards and has been crowned national winner three times, including Haircut of the Year 2024 and Hairdresser of the Year 2025, where she also won the Female Category. She is also the Nordic winner of the L’Oréal Style & Colour Trophy 2023 and won Best Colour at the Davines World Wide Hair Tour competition in 2018.

His work spans international editorial and global campaigns for brands including Alfaparf Milano, TIGI Bed Head, Selective Professional and NVNT Haircare, with features in INFRINGE, the magazine of hair anthropology.An award-winning filmmaker, Aris now works across a hybrid practice — combining traditional photography and film with AI-native production, exploring what becomes possible when editorial craft meets generative tools.
